Questions & Answer

We’re committed to offering more than just products—we provide exceptional experiences.

August to October is generally the best period. The weather becomes more comfortable, fresh fruit is widely available and conditions are suitable for both city sightseeing and Pamir excursions.

Allow two to three days for Kashgar City and its principal cultural attractions. A journey combining Kashgar, Karakul Lake and Taxkorgan normally requires four to five days.

Yes. Kashgar is one of the best destinations in Xinjiang for experiencing Silk Road history, Uyghur culture, traditional architecture, local markets and Central Asian–influenced cuisine.

Kashgar Old Town, Id Kah Mosque, Apak Hoja Mausoleum and the Sunday Bazaar are the main city attractions. Karakul Lake, the Pamir Plateau and Taxkorgan are highly recommended for a longer journey.

Foreign travelers generally need a border permit to visit Taxkorgan and designated areas along the Pamir and Karakoram Highway route. Carry your passport and valid Chinese visa, and confirm current requirements before departure.

Kashgar City is approximately 1,300 metres above sea level and usually causes few problems. Karakul Lake and parts of Taxkorgan reach approximately 3,000–3,600 metres, so visitors should ascend gradually, rest properly and avoid strenuous activity upon arrival.

Bring lightweight, breathable clothing in summer, along with sun protection. Spring and autumn require layers because temperatures vary between day and night. A warm jacket, hat and gloves are essential for winter and high-altitude Pamir trips.

Popular choices include polo or pilaf, laghman noodles, lamb kebabs, samsa, naan bread, dried fruit, nuts and traditional Kashgar medicinal tea.

The wider market area may operate at other times, but Sunday is traditionally the busiest and most atmospheric day, offering the fullest market experience.

Yes. Winter is suitable for travelers who prefer fewer crowds and a quieter cultural experience. Kashgar City is generally accessible, but snow, ice and changing road conditions can affect journeys into the Pamir Mountains.

Independent travel is possible within Kashgar City. However, a private tour is recommended for visiting Karakul Lake, Taxkorgan and the Pamir Plateau because of the long driving distances, border-permit requirements, limited public transportation and changing road conditions. A local guide and experienced driver can make the journey safer, smoother and more efficient.
